EuraTechnologies: A European Innovation Hub Rooted in Territorial Transformation

Founded in 2009 by Lille Metropole, the Hauts-de-France Region and the City of Lille, EuraTechnologies has established itself as one of the leading hubs for startups and digital innovation in Europe.

Founded in 2009 by Lille Metropole, the Hauts-de-France Region and the City of Lille, EuraTechnologies has established itself as one of the leading hubs for startups and digital innovation in France and Europe. Located at the heart of a former textile factory rehabilitated into a 21,000 m² innovation campus, EuraTechnologies embodies a successful model of economic, social and urban transformation driven by innovation.

Its core mission is clear: to support the creation of jobs and sustainable economic growth in the digital and technological sectors. Through incubation, acceleration, real estate services and large-scale events, EuraTechnologies provides entrepreneurs with comprehensive support, from the earliest stages of an idea to international deployment.

A Structured Ecosystem Serving Innovation

EuraTechnologies operates as a fully integrated ecosystem bringing together startups, scale-ups, large companies, research centres, investors and public authorities. Each year, over 200 projects are incubated, contributing directly to the creation of new companies and high-skilled employment across the region. Today, more than 3,000 companies are part of its wider ecosystem.

The hub offers two flagship programmes:

  • A six-month incubation programme, designed to support early-stage entrepreneurs in transforming ideas into viable businesses. Open to both individual founders and early-stage teams, the programme provides selected entrepreneurs with free access to dedicated workspaces, as well as personalised support from experienced startup managers.

  • A six-month acceleration programme, tailored to established startups aiming to scale up nationally and internationally.

This structured pathway is complemented by mentoring, technical expertise, access to funding opportunities and strong links with academic excellence, including innovation programmes developed with Stanford University and local universities.

A Strategic Territorial Anchor with European Reach

EuraTechnologies now operates five campuses, all strategically located within one hour of Paris, London and Brussels, covering more than 135,000 m². Each campus specialises in key sectors aligned with Europe’s strategic priorities, including cybersecurity, green technologies, agri-tech, digital industry, robotics and space technologies.

The Cyber Campus, co-financed with the support of the ERDF, is set to become one of the largest cybersecurity innovation centres in Europe, fostering cooperation between startups, SMEs, research institutions, public authorities and training organisations.

Contributing to European Values and Policy Objectives

Beyond its economic impact, EuraTechnologies aligns closely with European priorities. By supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, digital transition and green technologies, it contributes directly to the objectives of the European Union in terms of competitiveness, technological sovereignty and sustainable development.

Its emphasis on inclusion, education and skills development — notably through initiatives such as Euratech’Kids, which has introduced over 12,000 children to digital skills — reflects European values of equal opportunity, social cohesion and long-term investment in human capital.

Recognised as the leading startup hub in France by the Financial Times, EuraTechnologies illustrates how local public investment, when combined with a strong ecosystem approach, can generate impact far beyond metropolitan and regional borders.

It illustrates how local innovation ecosystems can actively contribute to Europe’s long-term strategic objectives. Rooted in a post-industrial territory, the hub demonstrates the capacity of metroplitan territories to reinvent themselves through innovation, skills development and entrepreneurship, while ensuring that economic transformation remains inclusive and sustainable.
