EuraCreative: Driving Innovation and European Collaboration in the Cultural and Creative Industries

EuraCreative stands as the flagship ecosystem dedicated to Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI), contributing to both regional attractiveness and Europe-wide collaboration.

Within the innovation strategy of Lille Metropole, the sites of excellence — known as EURA hubs — play a central role in accelerating economic transformation, fostering partnerships and enhancing international visibility. Among them, EuraCreative stands as the flagship ecosystem dedicated to Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI), contributing to both regional attractiveness and Europe-wide collaboration.

EuraCreative brings together entrepreneurs, artists and public stakeholders to stimulate innovation across audiovisual production, video games, music, live performance and design. By supporting experimentation, entrepreneurship and knowledge exchange, the hub actively strengthens the competitiveness and resilience of the creative economy while reinforcing the international positioning of the Lille metropolitan area.

A Creative Ecosystem Rooted in Territorial Transformation

EuraCreative’s development is closely linked to the regeneration of Plaine Images, a former industrial site that has evolved into a vibrant cluster for digital and creative activities. Following the decline of the textile industry in the mid-20th century, the district experienced a major revival from 2007 onwards with the arrival of key actors such as Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains, Pictanovo and Ankama

With more than 700 companies, 6,000 jobs and 3,500 students involved across the metropolitan area, EuraCreative demonstrates the scale and strategic importance of the CCI ecosystem for metropolitan and regional development.

Supporting Entrepreneurship Through Incubation and Acceleration

At the heart of EuraCreative’s mission lies a comprehensive support pathway designed to accompany creative entrepreneurs from idea to market expansion.

The Take Off incubation programme provides tailored guidance for early-stage projects, whether developed individually or in teams. Through workshops, mentoring, peer exchange and expert coaching, participants benefit from a supportive collective environment embedded within the Plaine Images ecosystem. Specialised tracks — including video games and music tech — complement the general CCI programme, ensuring sector-specific expertise and market alignment.

Beyond incubation, the acceleration programme supports companies that have reached initial market maturity and seek to scale their activities. Entrepreneurs gain access to strategic intelligence, partnerships with SMEs, major companies and research actors, recruitment support, and preferential access to innovation facilities and events. This personalised coaching strengthens business sustainability while encouraging cross-sector collaboration.

National Visibility and European Ambition

EuraCreative contributes significantly to the national recognition of the metropolitan territory as a leading creative hub, notably through participation in international and national innovation events and trade fairs supported by Lille Metropole. At the same time, its geographical position at the crossroads of major European capitals reinforces its ambition to act as a gateway to the European creative market.

The hub actively fosters partnerships across Europe, notably with Music Tech Europe. These collaborations facilitate knowledge exchange, co-production opportunities and improved access to European markets for local companies.

Through entrepreneurship support, skills development and cross-border cooperation, the hub not only enhances metropolitan attractiveness but also reinforces Europe’s capacity to remain a global leader in creative innovation. By combining economic development, artistic creation and international collaboration, the hub positions the Lille metropolitan area as a major European player in Cultural and Creative Industries.
