Lille Metropole 2020 World Design Capital enhances eco conception practices, recycling and new economic models in fashion.
Lille Métropole is organizing the first edition of the “Circular Fashion Awards”, an event sponsored by Pascal Canfin, MEP and President of the Commission for the Environment, Public Health and Food security at the EU Parliament.
The competition was open to projects whose aim is to introduce on the market a good or a service combining innovation and sustainability while offering alternative economic models, engaging in social and environmental responsibility through eco conception practices, recycling and new modes of distribution.
Out of the 270 applications received, 27 made it to the final stage, and are currently exhibited at the Manufacture de Roubaix, where they are subject to a vote from the public and an examination from a judging panel. 7 awards will be delivered on 16 october 2020, with prizes worth up to 10 000€. The project that gained the biggest support among the public will be awarded the Public’s award, and two additional “Coup de coeur” prizes will be delivered by the Eurométropole Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai and rev3 (Third Industrial Revolution in the Hauts-de-France region).
